Preparation for the UCAS application starts in Year 12, where students are encouraged to visit University Open Days and research into different types of HE courses available.  In Year 13 the students will research where to study the desired course and make their application online with ‘UCAS Apply’.

The applicant journey:

·         Student researches where to study

·         Registers online with UCAS Apply

·         Completes all sections of the form including ‘The Personal Statement’

·         Reference is added by the School

·         School sends form electronically to UCAS

·         UCAS processes form and forwards to chosen HE institution

·         HE institutions submit decisions

·         Applicant views decisions on Track

All students are given support and guidance throughout the process of their application.  School Discovery Days have also been allocated to support students and visiting speakers come in to provide information about university fees and student finance.
